Samson-Marin Subsea Ltd have as of the 1st of October 2008, become inshore JET sled operators in Asia. Operating the (Sam 001) sled requires equipment and teams who can deal with the difficult conditions inshore from shore land fall to perhaps 1 km offshore. Samson Subsea Trenching entered into discussions with Marin Subsea where a successful outcome was reached for both companies.

As a result Marin Subsea Ltd has taken a 60% stake in Samson Subsea Trenching. Alan Samson, Managing Director comments ‘’ it’s a perfect fit for Samson in Marin we have the support now to service the industry, where our SAM 001 jet sled can be supported by quality rental equipment that’s required to trench near shore for our clients we have looked at revised design where its now purpose built’’.

The two principle designers of 98% of all MFE equipment world wide, moves closer to final designs in conceptual proof of floating support systems for client’s operations world wide. Nick Sills, Technical Director, has spent the last two years working on the dynamic handling of the new delta dog system. The options of using the experiences in sub orbital flight and jet engines, powered hunters and fighter jets will allow for clarity in the crafted equipment future operations to be applied in designs and development from the ground up.
